Q-Watch technology: integrates industrial stand-alone operation and microchip CE technology
Microchip capillary electrophoresis
Capillary electrophoresis (CE) is a very generic tool for separation and measurement of all kinds of organic and inorganic ions. In CE, a sample is separated into its components as it migrates through a glass capillary under the driving force of a strong electrical field. Capillaries in conventional CE measure up to 50 cm or even longer. Microchip CE, a miniaturized form of CE, offers unique possibilities for separation of charged analytes as the high separation efficiency of CE can be combined with the flexibility of chip design and the speed of miniaturized separation. Furthermore, microchip CE offers much better possibilities for integration of extra functionalities resulting in lab-on-a-chip type CE devices.
