Capilix' proprietary lab-on-a-chip technology can be used for many applications in various markets. Capilix has decided to focus on applications in the water market, specifically in the following market segments.

Drinking water production

Within the drinking water production companies, Capilix' technology can be used for multiple applications (table 1), contributing to safer production of drinking water:

Waste water treatment

Within the (municipal) waste water treatment sector, biological nitrogen removal processes play an important role. Capilix' technology is able to provide solutions for on-line sensoring of NH4+, NO3-, NO2-, phosphate, Fe2+/3+ and Mn2+/4+ in one instrument only.

Irrigation water greenhouses

The ionic composition of irrigation water in greenhouses is very important for optimal agricultural production of high quality vegetables. Capilix' technology can provide solutions for on-line analysis of the ionic composition of irrigation water in greenhouses and contribute to optimise quality and nutritional value of the vegetables.

Anaerobic digesters

Anaerobic digesters are more and more applied for conversion of (agricultural) waste into biogas. Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA) and bicarbonate are very important parameters for operation of these anaerobic digesters.

Capilix can provide sensor solutions for on-line analysis of the different VFA (formate, acetate, propionate and butyrate) and bicarbonate for optimal biogas production.

Industrial processes

Capilix' technology can be used for analysis of various components in several industries, for example, in the following segments (table 2):
